This module focuses on the service area optimization (BTS/NB to BSC/RNC Parenting, LAC/RAC optimization, MSC service area optimization); the goal is to minimize the mobility between the different service areas thus minimizing signaling load & maximizing CP Load.
Three levels / layers of Optimization:
MSC Service areas optimization:
Optimize the MSC/SGSN service areas (LUP with HLR interworking) to maximise MSC CP Load utilisation
BTS/NB to BSC/RNC Parenting Optimization:
Minimize call drop due to inter BSC handover failure
LAC/RAC Planning Optimization:
Minimize the Location Area Update traffic with homogenous distribution of the paging load over the various Location Zones within access network paging capacity (optimize LUP without HLR interworking)
